Music Ministry
A place to grow...
Our Music Ministry is a place to grow in your knowledge of music and also in your understanding of how the text and lyrics of songs & anthems help to stir up the hearts of men and women. The lyrics can set the captive free, heal the sin-sick soul, ignite a fire deep within and declare the glory of God to all the nations. Our choir is sometimes big and sometimes small, but it is always a mighty powerful experience when we all realize it takes a group of individuals to become one voice leading others toward the cross. Ready for an adventure? Join us on Wednesdays at 6pm in the Sanctuary.

Choral Music Program
The choir practices and performs at 4 of our larger festival services each year; Christmas Spectacular, Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Reformation Sunday. These services are quite enhanced with choral led hymns (Hymn Concertatos) and involve reading, congregation, orchestra, choir, praise band, video team and bells when available.
Occasionally the choir will perform during our Heritage worship service, and once in a while at The1045 service.
The choir is open to anyone who would like to participate. When working on a choral piece, the choir typically practices on Wednesday nights.
The choir is under the direction of Anthony Cooper
Advent & Lent the schedule is 6:00 – 6:50pm and then following the service for about 30 additional minutes.
Orchestral Music Program
The orchestra participates year round on 2nd and last Sundays each month except July – August, and at Christmas Spectacular, Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Reformation Sunday. Occasionally the orchestra will accompany our choir when the choir has an anthem of need.
The orchestra rehearsas as needed and usually the members are made up of stipend ($1200/year) musicians from within our community as well as in-house member musicians. You must be a Junior/Senior high school with at least 4 years of music study and older to participate. Musicians work on their parts ahead of time and meet usually the week of or the day of at an earlier time to rehearse with the choir.
The orchestra is under the direction of Mr. Jason Hooper, orchestra instructors at CSISD in College Station.
Praise Band & Singers Program
Our praise band is made up of professionally paid instrumental musicians comprised of drum set, bass, electric, lead and acoustic guitars and keys/piano. Sometimes we bring orchestral musicians in on a needs schedule.
Our singers are pulled from our choral program and must demonstrate a proficient ability to read music, hear pitches, and understand sometimes complex rhythms. The needed preference is SSAT(B) for vocal mix. With strong preference for SST so our ladies can sing higher pitches as needed. Participation is based off from the discretion and invitation of our minister of music.
Rehearsals start at 6:30pm – 7:30 Thursdays.
Come to our next gathering.
