Week 2: The Meal that Nourishes

Altar: The Meal that Nourishes
“Take, eat; this is My body… Drink of it… this is My blood…” Matthew 26:26-28 

At the center stands the altar where Christ feeds His people with His true body and blood. What He gave once for all on the cross, He now gives to you in the Sacrament. This is not a memory, it’s a meal. Not a symbol, but a gift. Here Christ places the fruits of the cross directly into your hands and upon your lips. It is the same body broken, the same blood poured out for the forgiveness of your sins. The Lord’s Supper is the culmination of the line of grace: the crucified Christ, fully present for you.
